Great distribution and little he could do for Silva’s goal. Breeds confidence in the Liverpool back line.
RB: Trent Alexander-Arnold – 6
Escaped handball in sixth minute and played a brilliant cross field pass in the move for second goal.
Powerful runs forward unsettled City.

Solid shift and made a good diving block to deflect Sterling’s shot over on 53 minutes.
CB: Virgil van Dijk – 8
Typically assured and generally in the right place at the right time.
Powerful in the air and marshalled the rearguard well late on.
LB: Andrew Robertson – 7
Unsettled by Silva early but provided a fantastic assist for Salah goal.
Pinned back by Sterling as the match went on.

Stunning strike for opener and involved in several key moments, with the only blot how he was brushed off by De Bruyne for City’s opener.
CM: Jordan Henderson – 7
Full marks for effort on return from illness and superb run and cross to Mane for third.
Excellent display before subbed on the hour mark.
